SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT

All participants are invited to register and submit their abstracts of scientific communications for 2nd International Epigenetics Congress conceptualized by the main theme “Precision Medicine for Personalized Health Care in Complex Chronic Diseases - From Genomics to Epigenomics” that will be held on September 2-3, 2023 at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus in Istanbul.. We welcome abstracts from all areas relevant to the main themes of the meeting, for both oral and poster presentations. Abstracts will report the latest research developments for clinical applications of the OMICS disciplines (genomics, epigenomics, nutrigenomics, metagenomics/human microbiome, pharmacogenomics) in the context of Precision Medicine related to the prediction, prevention and treatment of complex chronic diseases and aging. Abstracts are welcomed from physicians, pharmacists, dietitians, scientists, researchers, students, and trainees in all sectors, including academia, industry, and government. Abstracts will be evaluated only for those who have registered for the congress.

Please use our online abstract submission system and follow the instructions given to ensure your abstract is submitted correctly. All abstracts must be submitted online by August 15th, 2023, at the latest 18:30 CST Türkiye. Immediately after submission, authors will be notified by e-mail to confirm that the submission and registration process was successful. Should you not receive the abstract submission confirmation email within 24 hours, please check your spam folder first and then contact us at nutrigenetikepigenetik@gmail.com Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee and the abstracts of the accepted communications will be published in the e-book of abstracts distributed to all conference attendants. A limited number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. Authors wishing to compete for these oral communication slots should mark the appropriate field on the on-line abstract-submission form.

Abstract Submission Information

  • Participants wishing to present an oral communication, or a poster should submit abstracts online via the abstract submission management system available on congress website.
  • If the presenting author’s registration fee is received by the Organizing Committee on before the given deadline, the submitted abstract(s) will be send to the Scientific Committee to peer-review and verify for the acceptance,
  • Every registered participant has the right of submitting two abstracts.
  • Invited speakers are not allowed to send a second abstract in addition to their invited talk.
  • A notification of acceptance will be sent to the registered participant, as soon as their abstract is peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee.
  • Oral Communications will be selected by the Scientific Committee into the Scientific Program. All other abstracts will have the opportunity to be presented as posters.
  • An oral communication will be given ten (10) minutes for their presentation plus five (5) more minutes for Questions & Answers.
  • The registered presenting author of a contributed and accepted abstract must attend the meeting and present the abstract, either orally or as a poster.
  • There will be a “Best Poster Award” selected among the presented posters of the Master students, Ph.D. Students and Post-Doctoral participants.
  • Only the first author or presenting author may withdraw an abstract from the program. Requests for withdrawals must come to the Chair of the Organizing Committee and/or the Organization Secretariat by writing an email.
  • Abstract deadlines are strictly observed. Only abstracts received by the published deadline are guaranteed acceptance into the regular scientific program.
  • Meeting organizers are under no obligation to schedule in scientific program any contributed abstract that arrives after the close of business on the deadline date.
  • Abstracts submitted after the abstract deadline (post deadline abstracts) may be placed in poster sessions on a space-available basis at the discretion of the Program Committee.
  • Abstracts which do not comply with the guidelines
    will be returned directly to the authors for correction before they can enter the reviewing process.
  • The 2nd Epigenetic Congress_2023 Organizing Committee has the right to reject or alter abstracts based on, but not limited to, the following criteria: ► Abstracts contain inappropriate content: ► Abstracts fall outside of the topical scope of the meeting.: ► Registration fee payment is not realized upon the given dates.

Abstract Writing Rules

Poster Guidelines

  • The posters must be written in English.
  • Poster size is nominally 70 cm wide and 50 cm high, in portrait format (no landscape). A permanent poster number will be assigned to each abstract and will be announced to the first author, along with the day of presentation.
  • Written text should be legible from a 2 m distance. The title of the poster should be at the top of the board with a character size of at least 5 cm high.
  • Posters should cover the key points of your presentation (avoid irrelevant information). Organize your poster in sections (e.g., introduction, methodology, results, conclusions, etc.). Remember that they are a visual presentation of information. Rely on graphs, charts, tables and pictures to communicate information rather than text. The ideal poster should draw attention, inform, and stimulate discussion.
  • Posters cannot be sent in advance. They must be brought by their presenters, who are responsible for setting up and removing their material. Any material left will be discarded at the end of the Congress.

  • Posters will be displayed from Saturday, September 2 to Sunday, September 3 in the Main Foyer, adjacent to the Plenary Session Room.
  • Please note that participants will be invited to view the posters during the lunches, coffee breaks and during the Poster Discussion Session (Saturday September 2, 13:30 to 15:00). Authors are expected to be in attendance by their poster during this Poster session.
  • Poster presenters are responsible for mounting and removing the posters at the acknowledged day and time.

Abstract Evaluation

All abstracts and proceedings will be blind reviewed by the Scientific Committee. In order to have an accepted abstract being programmed by the scientific committee, congress registration for the presenting author latest by August 4th, 2023. An acceptance letter concerning the abstract evaluation result will be e-mailed to the author.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDE LINE

Abstracts should be conformed to the instructions shown below.
Abstract format should be A4 with single spacing and must contain no more than 300 words, or 2300 characters, spaces included (including title, author names and affiliations), using letters of calibri, 11-point font. Please use MS Word for Windows version 6.0 or above and type the text single spaced, justified, with no paragraphs or indentations. Do not use tables, diagrams, graphics, or figures in the abstract. The submitted abstract(s) should be written in English. (Make sure that you use correct English with regard to spelling and grammar.). Abstracts should be brief and concise by addressing the relevant topics of the congress.

Title: The abstract title should be brief, specific, and should not contain abbreviations. Use bold font calibri, 12-point, single spacing. The initial letter should be capital, the rest lower case.

Author names: Authors name should start with their initial(s) without period, followed by their family name. Authors' names must be in plain font and separated with coma. Please underline the presenting author.

Affiliation: department, institution, city and country of all authors should be mentioned (no country abbreviation before ZIP code). If there is more than one affiliation, please add superscript numbers to each author name and precede each affiliation with the corresponding superscript number. Run on and do not start a new line with a new affiliation.

Abstract: The abstract body should be in a single paragraph and in order to make the abstract as informative as possible the text should be structured with the following 5 sections: Background, Objective, Methods, Results, conclusions & Discussion. If abbreviation is used in the abstract, the full name of the abbreviation should be stated in parentheses. Please include 3 to 6 keywords below the abstract, in the alphabetical order.

References: ►The abstract must include only 1 reference. This reference should appear at the end of the text in accordance with the Vancouver style. ►If there are more than three author, name only the first author, followed by “et al.“► Names of journals should be abbreviated according to the Chemical Abstracts Bibliographic Source Index. Please give first and last pages, e. g.: Amarzguioui M, Holen T, Babaie E, Prydz H., et al. Tolerance for mutations and chemical modifications in a siRNA. Nucleic Acids Res 2003;31:589-595.
